Paying for and accessing your Breakout Learning assignments.

1. Open your first assignment

Determine if payment is required

  • Open your first Breakout Learning assignment.
  • If payment is required for your course, a payment modal will automatically appear before you can access the assignment.
  • If your institution covers the cost of Breakout Learning, or your access has already been activated through a bookstore purchase, you will go directly into the assignment without seeing a payment prompt.

Note: If you are using Canvas or D2L Brightspace, always launch Breakout Learning from your LMS. If payment is required, the payment modal will appear automatically when you open your first Breakout Learning assignment.

2. Choose your access method

You may see one of the following options:

  • Purchase access using the available payment methods through our secure payment provider.
  • Enter an access code if you purchased Breakout Learning through your campus bookstore or another approved retailer.

Note: Some bookstore purchases provide an access code that must be entered during activation. Other bookstore purchases automatically grant access without requiring a payment or activation step.

3. Complete payment or activation

  • If purchasing directly, complete the payment using the available payment methods.
  • If using an access code, enter the code and follow the prompts to activate your access.

4. Continue to your assignment

  • After your payment or activation is complete, you'll be taken back to your assignment.
  • If your assignment requires group work, follow the prompts to join or create a group before beginning the experience.
