Creating an Assignment - D2L Users

Configuring the Activity in Breakout

1. Navigate to the course's Content tab.
2. Choose a module or create a new one.
3. Click Existing Activities > Breakout Learning.
   
4. After clicking Breakout, a setup screen will open inside Brightspace.
5. Choose the activity/session you want students to complete.
   
6. Click Add to Brightspace.
7. Set Grouping and Grading configurations.
   
   
8. Click Add to Class to finalize.

Setting Activity Details in Brightspace

1. After configuring the activity in Breakout, return to the Content module.
2. Click the Breakout activity.
   
3. Add assignment dates under Activity Details and click Update.
   
4. If grading was enabled for the Breakout assignment, add a Grade Item and click Save.
   
5. Click Go to Assignment in the Breakout window.
6. The grade item can also be changed manually later by selecting a different option from the D2L Grade Item dropdown in the Edit Grading Settings modal under Assignment Settings within the Breakout activity.
